metaLug v2.1.0 is now available and includes some updates; mainly, the addition of a new feature called Auto K. Auto K automatically searches for and finds both axial and net tension Lug coefficient's. The user can leverage the Auto K functionality or revert back to a manual entry format using the readily accessible charts within metaLug. Auto K messaging updates status of coefficients when a lug diameter, edge distance or width for either lug changes by informing a user that an Auto K update is required.
Note: Developing an optimal lug design begins with finding a balanced design. Using metaLug's balanced design feature, the user can (for double lug case only) apply the effective thicknesses to their design to quickly determine an optimal lug thickness for both male and female lugs. The 'Apply Effective Thickness' button will auto populate the lug thickness values with the effective thickness values before re-running the analysis.
