Centric Engineers is excited to announce that metalug is getting a feature-lift! Currently under development, metalug is going double...double shear lug that is!
Adding a new case study is a significant step in metalug's maturation into a viable lug analysis program. Now a user can expand his/her analysis by either selecting the simple single lug case (as before) or the more complex double shear case that includes both pin and bushing analysis.
Knowing that your pin is undersized is important...an undersized pin can lead to undesirable pin bending and permanent deformation. No worries, metalug provides a balanced design recommendation that provides an optimal lug and bushing thickness needed to prevent pin bending.
metalug v2.0.0 release date is set for some time in December.
Current Live Version of metalug is v1.0.1
metalug adds a new case study. Users can select the double shear lug case or the simpler single lug case - you now have the option.
With the latest version of metalug you can now select a material for the male lug and a different or same material for the female (clevis) lug.
metalug now has pop-ups that provide instance access to key tips regarding lug analyses, appropriate use of graphs etc.
